Privacy Policy — Sitemap & Freshness Inspector
Last updated: 28 July 2026
Sitemap & Freshness Inspector ("the extension") is a Chrome side-panel tool that audits
the sitemap.xml, robots.txt, and page structure of a website you choose to scan.
What the extension does
- When you click "Scan," the extension fetches the sitemap.xml (and any nested sitemap
files), robots.txt, and a sample of individual page URLs from the site you entered.
- All fetching and analysis happens locally in your browser, inside the extension's side
panel.
- Results (URL lists, HTTP status codes, last-modified dates, robots.txt rules, canonical
tags) are held only in the extension's in-memory session state.
What the extension does NOT do
- It does not send any data to Faiz Azizan, drfaizazizan.com, or any third-party server.
- It does not use any external API, analytics, or tracking service.
- It does not persist data to disk between sessions — closing the side panel or browser
clears all scan results.
- It does not collect, store, or transmit personal information about you, the extension
user.
Data accessed
- The extension requests broad host permissions (
http://*/* and
https://*/*) because it needs to fetch sitemap, robots.txt, and page content
from whatever website you type into the input field — the target site is entirely
user-specified, not fixed in advance.
- It also reads the URL of your active browser tab (via the
activeTab
permission) solely to pre-fill the input field with the current site's address as a
convenience. You can overwrite this before scanning.
Exporting your data
The "Export CSV" button generates a CSV file locally in your browser and saves it to your
computer via the standard Chrome download flow. This file never passes through any server
controlled by the extension developer.
